Using Google Apps Script to fetch data from your Google Analytics account

Google Analytics needs no introduction. Arguably the most popular web analytics service on the Internet, it helps businesses collect and analyze data and use them to develop and enhance their services or products. The most common way to access Google Analytics data is through the main dashboard and predefined reports. To manipulate the data and extract more valuable insights, you can create a standard or custom report to present the data you need and then export them, usually to a spreadsheet. The way to do this is to use the export capability (PDF, Google Sheets, Excel or CSV format) provided in the GA console and then import the file into Google Spreadsheets or any other spreadsheet software.

Don’t rush to close the window just yet.

We also need to enable the service of our choice in the Google API Console to get full access. If we click on the given link then we will be redirected directly to GCP console and we will find the service of our choice by searching “Analytics API” on the top search bar.
